Twitter Chart Image

We’ve noted before that Brazil is big on Twitter. But as LeVar Burton would say, you don’t have to take my word for it. Just have a peek below at this week’s chart, and you’ll find that the country’s exciting general election stole the show on Twitter this week, landing the topic in the number one slot.

If you’re not keeping up with your musical high school dramedies, you were probably perplexed by the term “Grilled Cheesus” amid the trending topics this week. Thanks be to Glee for another episode that got people tweeting as they watched Finn pray to a toasted sandwich. The theme (and Gleek chatter in general) snagged spot number two for the hit Fox show.

The NFL stays strong on the chart this week, coming in at number three, and the awarding of this year’s Nobel Prizes got people tweeting about the news and the laureates themselves. The topic rolled in at number four.

Check out the complete chart below, compiled by our friends over at What The Trend. Because this is a topical list, hashtag memes and games have been omitted from the chart.

You can check past Twitter trends in our Top Twitter Topics section as well as read more about this past week’s trends on What The Trend.
