We’re inviting you to take a walk on the wild side with our latest iPhone photo gallery that highlights some amazing captures in the world of wildlife photography.

From close-ups of creepy-crawlies, to frogs that look good enough to kiss, and a deer that could give Bambi a run for his money in the cuteness department, we’ve got a set of stunning nature images for your viewing pleasure.

So get your virtual hiking boots on and check out the gallery below. And remember folks, leave nothing but footprints — although comments are always appreciated.

1. Smokin' Raw by John Fawcett

This stunning macro shot was taken through a 12x graphic arts loupe with the gorgeous muted colors thanks to the good old Hipstamatic iPhone app. If you never thought you could appreciate a photo of a bug (and we're kind of with you on that) then this is the shot to change your mind.

2. Ducks on Ice by Michel de Nijs

Here, Michel de Nijs gives us an example of what can be achieved with an iPhone and some stale bread. This delightfully surreal shot looks like some kind of comedy duck graphics generator.

3. Foxy by Simone Conti

The vibrant tone of the fox against the verdant background makes for some great color contrast in this brightly lit daytime capture of the nocturnal predator. The fox's dark shadow reminds us of his usual place in the nighttime, while the background's dark, blurry shadows add a sense of menace to the scene.

4. Gate, Peacock, Tree by Richard Street

Some Photoshop Mobile processing to vary the saturation, exposure and contrast helps make this photograph look more like a classic painting. The atmospheric tree, richly textured grass and exotic-looking peacock come together in an other-worldly shot that's hard to believe was snapped in Scotland.

5. Bee by Sas Taylor

Sas Taylor would be the first to admit her macro iPhone photography set-up isn't the most advanced out there, but it's been used to great effect here in this close-up capture of a deceased bee. By positioning the bee as you would a human for a standard head-and-shoulders portrait, rather than for a more scientific "specimen" style shot, Taylor has created an off-beat, quirky snap that could almost be called a portrait.

6. The Frog Prince Story Part One by MissPixels

"Gilbert," as photographer MissPixels dubbed her subject, quite simply looks like the perfect fairytale frog. Clever use of low perspective for a frog's eye view, colors that snap off the screen and a brilliantly applied band of focus make this a simply stunning photograph that could compete with any taken on a full-fat DSLR.

7. Waterton by Sheldon Serkin

This incredible photograph has captured a little bit of magic and looks unreal. It looks more like a still from a 1960s technicolor children's film than something taken on a camera phone. Snapped in Waterton, Alberta, Canada, this could make the perfect poster for the place. Heck, it could make a pretty good poster for Planet Earth.

8. Mr. Spider With the Catch of the Day... the Sun by Robert-Paul Jansen

The spider-in-web shot is almost a photographic cliché, but Robert-Paul Jansen's version is elevated above that with the amazing, perfectly positioned light flare from the sun that illuminates the intricate web, and helps highlight the spider as the focal point.

9. Baby Barred Owl by Robert Yaskovic

There's a couple of juxtapositions in this lovely, almost bleak, shot that help make it so striking. The starkly lit baby owl looks completely out of place on the New Jersey tarmac.

10. Butterfly Garden by Jennifer Ford

Jennifer Ford has created a breathtakingly beautiful photo that's given some extra magic by the severe motion blur on the second butterfly. Colorful, and with an almost dream-like quality, it's like a memory of a perfect summer's day in photo form.

BONUS: Model 2 by Gusbano

The lighting here is genius, just catching the horse's face while the animal's gentle expression is captured really well in the monotone moment.
