A lot of time has passed since we’ve seen a new webOS device on the market, but after Palm’s financial troubles and its subsequent acquisition by HP in April 2010, few people expected a Palm Pre successor before the end of the year.
Now, speaking at an industry conference, HP’s Senior Vice President Eric Cador said new webOS devices are coming “early next year”.
It’s a case of “better late than never” for HP, a company that once dominated the handheld market with its iPaq, and is now missing out on the lucrative smartphone market. Luckily, the webOS platform was (and still is) quite promising, and we’re excited to see how these new devices will fare against the iPhone, Android, and other smartphones on the market.
